The HAL Oosterdam
The Oosterdam was the first of Holland America's four Vista class ships. Like her three sisters, she is 951' long, 105' wide, rated at 81,769 gt, has a speed of 22 knots, maintains a crew of 812 and has a comfortable passenger capacity of 1848 (2388 absolute maximum).



The Grand Princess

Shown at anchor in Monte Carlo Harbor. She was launched in 1998, is rated at 109,000 gt and carries 2600 passengers and an 1160 person crew.




The P&O Ventura
New in 2008, the Ventura is rated at 114,000 gross tons, carries 3092 passengers with a crew of 1230.
The Costa Marina
She's been sailing since 1969 and comes in at 25,000 gt. A crew of 396 takes care of her 1350 passengers. Most agree she will never a beauty contest.




The Norway
Designed as a Trans-Atlantic liner and Launched in 1961 as the France, she had a long and useful career until she was sent to the shipbreakers by NCL in 2008.

The Norwegean Gem
She began her career in 2007 with a 93,000 gross ton rating. She carries between 2376 passengers (4080 in a pinch) and has a crew of 1154.

The Sea Princess
Formerly the Adonia, she was built 1n 1998 with a gross tonnage of 79,000, is 857' long by 105' wide. She carries 2016 passengers and a crew of 814.
The Silver Sea's Silver Wind
Built in Mariotti, Italy in 1994 she carries only 296 comfortable passengers and has a crew of 185. Pictured here at the port of Kusadasi, Turkey.


The Hurtigruten FRAM
The FRAM is a polar exploration ship built in 2007. She is rated at 12,700 gt and carries 272 to 318 passengers. Pictured here in Antarctica near the Polish Research Station, Arktowski.
Holland America's Statendam
Launched in 1992 as the first in Holland America's "S" Class ships, she is rated at 55,000 gt, is 719' long by 101' wide. She carries 1266 passengers and 618 as crew. Her sister ships are Maasdam, Ryndam and Veendam.


The Celebrity Infinity
The Infinity was built in 2001 and is one of four Celebrity ships of this class. She is 964' long and has a panmax beam of 105'. Rated at 90,000 gt, she can carry up to 2450 passengers with a crew of 999.
The "Old" Noordam
In November 2004, this Noordam was sold by Holland America to Thompson Cruises and now sails as the "CELEBRATION". She was completed in 1984 and at 704' long by 89' wide was rated at 33,900 gt. She handles 1214 Passengers with a crew of 540.




The Windjammer, Polynesia
Polynesia is a 250' four-masted fisherman-rigged schooner. She has a crew of 45 and berths for 112 passengers. The "Poly" was acquired by Windjammer Barefoot Cruises in 1975. Since the demise of Windjammer, the "Poly" has been laid up somewhere in the Caribbean.
Aboard the Polynesia
Originally constructed in 1938, Polynesia was one of the last of the Portuguese Grand Banks Fishing Fleet. As the schooner Argus, she was featured in National Geographic and was the subject of Allen Villers book, "The Quest of the Schooner Argus".


The Corinthian II
Built in 1991 she was formerly the Renaissance Seven, The Sun and The Island Sun. Now operated by Travel Dynamics, the Corinthian II is a rugged polar exploration ship. RCCL Legend of the Seas
The Legend of the Seas was built for RCCL in 1995 by Chantiers de l'Atlantique in St. Nazaire, France. At 867' long by 105' wide, she comes rated at 71,000 gt. Her passenger capacity is 2076 and her crew numbers 735. Her sister ship is Splendor of the Seas.


The Crystal Symphony
The 51,000 ton Symphony is owned by Crystal Cruises. She was built in 1995 and carries 950 passengers with a crew compliment of 545. She can cruise along at 22 kn.

The Clipper Adventurer
The Adventurer is a small rugged polar exploration ship. First launched in 1977, she was re-built in 1998. Originally named Alla Tarasova, she is rated at 4,400 gt and carries a crew of 79 to care for 122 passengers. In this view she is at the dock in Ushuaia, Argentina.


The Costa Romantica
Born in 1993, the Romantica is rated at 53,000 gt, carries 1356 passengers and a crew of 650. Shown here as she is about to make an early morning entry into the port of Civitavecchia, Italy.


John Wayne's, The Wild Goose
This one-time WWII Mine Sweeper was aquired by the actor, John Wayne. He converted it to a luxury yacht and kept it here at his home on Newport Bay. After his death it fell into disrepair and was eventually sold and turned into this somewhat top-heavy party boat. Although not actually a cruise ship, it does harbor cruises in Newport Bay.
